Officials discovered some of the boxes were missing on Aug. 17.
Personnel at both storage facilities, as well as hospital staff, are reportedly searching for the records. It is unknown how many records were misplaced.
Officials said they are notifying patients of the incident out of caution and that there is “no evidence that patient information has been misused,” according to the article.
Patients impacted by the incident will reportedly be offered one year of identity theft protection.
