FDA approves DexCom’s diabetes Android app: 3 things to know

The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved an Android version of Dexcom’s diabetes management mobile app.

Here are three things to know.

  1. The Dexcom G5 mobile app allows patients to view and monitor glucose levels on their cell phones in real time.
  1. The approval makes Dexcom G5 the first continuous glucose monitoring app available for Android devices. The company launched an iOS version of the app in 2015.
  1. DexCom plans to rollout the Android app this month.
