The tech giant has been eliminating positions then giving affected staffers a limited period of time to apply for other jobs in the company, current and former managers familiar with the matter told the newspaper. Some Meta employees call this the “30 Day List.”
Like other Big Tech companies in the midst of a downturn in the industry, Meta has said it will have to do more with fewer resources in the near term.
“We’ve been public about the need for our teams to shift to meet these challenges,” Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton told the Journal. He declined to specify the number of employees affected by the move.
