While the healthcare industry waits for its equivalent of Uber, existing companies are beginning to forge their own inroads to offering solutions for on-demand care.
Everseat, an athenahealth-partnered patient-physician scheduling platform, has partnered with the rideshare service Lyft, Uber's primary competitor, to offer easier access to healthcare appointments and transportation.
The companies' apps are now integrated, so a patient using Everseat to schedule an appointment may then reach out to Lyft to schedule a ride to their appointment.
"Working with Lyft adds tremendous value to our platform. We are on a mission to build the most robust scheduling platform for healthcare," Jeff Peres, CEO and cofounder of Everseat, said in a statement. "Access is a complex concept. Everseat is committed to partnering with leading technologies to drive increased efficiency — and this relationship is an outstanding example."
