The new EHR system allows patients at the 76-bed acute care hospital to access Meditech’s patient and consumer health portal. Using the web-based patient portal, individuals can view the health records, message their providers and scheduled appointments, among other functions.
“In addition to the clinical benefits of a sophisticated health system, and removing the stress off of our [information technology] department, we are excited to be launching a user-friendly patient portal to allow the community to actively participate in their own healthcare,” said Charlie Hatfield, Williamson Memorial Hospital CEO and co-owner, according to a news release.
MaaS launched in 2017 and is designed specifically for critical care and community-based hospitals. Additionally, a subscription to MaaS allows hospitals to access Meditech’s web-based EHR Expanse.
