Vail (Colo.) Health rolled out Epic on Oct. 3, bringing records from its providers and services into a shared EHR system.
Vail Health partnered with UCHealth through the Epic Community Connect program to bring the EHR to its rural mountain community.
“We are very excited because for the first time, our hospitals, clinics and many other services across Vail Health will share one electronic health record through Epic. Now your provider, irrespective of where they are providing care to you, will be able to see what’s been happening in all the other places in our system you’ve visited,” Will Cook, Vail Health president and CEO, said in a statement shared with Becker’s. “Our teams will have more consistent tools and processes. And our patients will have MyChart as one place to connect with us, schedule appointments, see their health information, and manage their bills. At the end of the day, this is about helping us take better care of people.”
Patients and providers will be able to view records from Vail Health, Colorado Mountain Medical, Shaw Cancer Center, Howard Head Sports Medicine, Vail Health Clinics, Vail Health Behavioral Health and Vail Healthspan through Epic’s MyChart patient portal.
