The health system, which is home to more than 390 physicians, will go live on the new system April 6. The EHR system will allow URHCS patients to have access to their health records at providers outside of the health system.
“Healthcare is changing, and we must change with it,” URHCS President and CEO Phyllis Cowling told Times Record News. “Each of us is individually responsible for our own health. Epic provides the technology that allows people to access information in a way that is meaningful to them.”
Epic’s EHR features its MyChart application, which allows patients to access their health information by smartphone or the internet. With MyChart, patients can view test results, schedule appointments and message their healthcare providers.
