Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is the latest health system to report being impacted by an early 2025 data breach involving Oracle Health.
In April, the EHR vendor notified the six-hospital system about the January hack of legacy Cerner systems, providing a list of affected patients in October, according to a recent notice. Oracle Health had asked health systems to delay patient notification amid the investigation. As many as 80 hospitals were ensnared in the breach.
“This incident did not involve nor compromise any patient information maintained by MLH or our current IT systems and did not cause any disruption to our clinical operations,” the health system stated. “We regret any concern that Oracle Health’s incident may cause our patients and continue to review and assess the cybersecurity protections of our third-party vendors.”
For Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare patients, the compromised data may have included names, Social Security numbers and medical records.
