Following genetic testing, the results are uploaded to the ActX platform and, subsequently, the Oracle Cerner EHR. When a clinician prescribes a patient’s medication, the EHR can automatically check the patient’s genetic profile and alert the clinician of possible side effects.

Nicklaus plans to expand the platform to encompass many other genetic conditions, according to a Jan. 11 ActX news release.

“With ActX Genomic Decision Support connected directly into their Cerner EHR, ActX will provide seamless point of care decision support to Nicklaus’s physicians. Our shared goal is to help improve patient outcomes,” ActX CEO Andrew Ury, MD, said.
