The Meditech EHR replaces the hospital’s legacy system, which it has used for more than two decades. Newman Regional Health officials’ goal for the new EHR is to increase information exchange capabilities between departments, according to Cathy Pimple, the hospital’s chief quality officer.

Hospital officials began implementing the EHR software in July, and have been training clinicians on the system since early November.
