Waukon, Iowa-based Veterans Memorial Hospital is trying out a novel strategy to sign up users for the MyChart patient portal attached to its new Epic EHR.
Visitors to the hospital’s tent at a local festival, Waukon Corn Days, on Aug. 1 are invited to play “MyChart Trivia” and enroll in the patient portal, according to a July 28 news release.
Patients will benefit from MyChart features like viewing test results, messaging providers and paying bills online, Veterans Memorial CEO Michael Coyle told Becker’s for a June 28 story.
The 25-bed critical access hospital paid $3.88 million to switch to Epic from CPSI (now known as TruBridge) as part of Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health Care’s Community Connect program. Veterans Memorial went live with the new EHR on June 14.
