By moving its EHR to a cloud platform, Franciscan Health can shift more of its focus from data center business to staff resources and patient care initiatives.

The health system, which comprises 18,000 employees, implemented Virtustream’s IT staff augmentation model, which allows Franciscan Health to spend more time optimizing its EHR rather than performing daily operations. The model will free up IT staff to focus on more strategic and innovative projects for patient care and business initiatives, according to the news release.
