Epic reported customer results for Teamwork, the first application in EpicOps, its integrated enterprise resource planning suite for healthcare.
Released in 2025, Teamwork lets health systems manage clinician and staff scheduling, exam room use and other resource planning inside the same system they use to deliver care, making schedules and resource usage visible in real time across an organization.
Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health cut provider schedule build time by 75% using Teamwork’s templates, real-time coverage views and direct Epic integration, said Mark Mabus, MD, the system’s chief medical information officer, in a June 18 Epic news release.
At Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health Care, real-time updates closed the lag between provider availability changes and on-call schedules. “With Teamwork, the schedule integrates well with our existing systems, updating in real time so nurses, care coordinators, and other staff can consult with an available physician sooner,” stated James Blum, MD, chief health information officer, in the release.
Teamwork anchors Epic’s broader push to build a fully integrated ERP that connects workforce, supply chain and financial applications with the clinical record — a move that would let it compete with the likes of Oracle and Workday. Future EpicOps tools will predict supply needs from upcoming surgery schedules, and the suite will eventually let leaders compare procedure costs against outcomes such as readmissions, Epic said.
