The PatientTrak App is now available in Epic’s App Orchard, which serves as an online marketplace for third-party developers to offer pre-approved reporting, visualization and content apps that run on Epic’s software infrastructure. By joining the App Orchard, Epic hospital clients can now purchase PatientTrak’s app to stay connected to patients during the care process by keeping them informed and directing them through text message.
The app can also keep family members informed when the patient is in surgery. Family members can receive text messages such as “procedure started,” “patient progressing normally” or “surgery complete” to keep those waiting for the patient up to date on his or her progress.
