Cleveland Clinic has become the national leader in organ donor registration via MyChart after Epic launched the new feature a year ago.
Here are six things to know from a May 27 Epic news release:
1. Cleveland Clinic has had more than 12,800 patients register to be organ donors through its MyChart patient portal as of May 26, the most of any health system.
2. Cleveland Clinic had more than 3,000 registrations in the first two weeks of April alone.
3. Over 220 organizations representing 1,300 hospitals and 27,000 clinics have enabled the feature.
4. Nationwide, over 250,000 people have used MyChart to become organ donors.
5. MyChart is now the leading national pathway for organ donation registration, with more than half of all new additions to the National Donate Life Registry in the past year coming from the patient portal.
6. April 2026 was the most active month yet, as more than 42,000 people signed up to be organ donors through MyChart as part of National Donate Life Month.
