Dell names interim CIO

Dell Technologies, the result of a partnership between Dell and EMC Corporation, appointed Bask Iyer as its CIO, according to The Wall Street Journal.

After Dell's $60 billion acquisition of EMC closed last month, Mary Louise (ML) Krakauer, who had been serving as EMC's CIO at the time of the transaction, was named CIO of the new company.

Now, a Dell spokesperson told WSJ that Ms. Krakauer is taking a temporary leave of absence for "personal reasons."

Mr. Iyer, who currently serves as CIO and IoT manager at VMware, will continue in his position at VMware while joining Dell. Prior to his position at VMware, Mr. Iyer was CIO at Honeywell and Juniper Networks.
