More Americans cite cyberattacks as more of a global threat than ISIS, climate change

A cyberattack from another country is Americans’ most common security concern, according to a recent survey from the Pew Research Center.

Pew Research Center surveyed 27,612 respondents from  26 countries between May 14 and Aug. 12, 2018, about their top global security concerns.

Here’s how U.S. respondents ranked global threats:

1. Cyberattacks from other countries: 74 percent

2. The Islamic militant group known as ISIS: 62 percent

3. Global climate change: 59 percent

4. North Korea’s nuclear program: 58 percent

5. Russia’s power and influence: 50 percent

6. China’s power and influence: 48 percent

7. The condition of the global economy: 44 percent

The survey also asked global respondents to vote on whether they perceive U.S. power and influence as a global threat. U.S. respondents were not asked this question.
