Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health’s phone system and MyChart patient portal remain unavailable as the health system continues responding to a cybersecurity incident involving an unauthorized criminal actor.
In a Sept. 10 update, Luminis Health said its investigation is ongoing and teams are working with third-party experts to safely restore affected systems.
The health system said its hospitals remain open and continue providing patient care.
Luminis Health first disclosed the cybersecurity incident Sept. 1. The organization later confirmed that an “unauthorized criminal actor” was responsible for the incident. Previous disruptions have resulted in some patients being rerouted to other facilities and physicians using paper charts.
Luminis Health has not provided a timeline for when its phone system or MyChart will be restored. The organization operates Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis and Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center in Lanham, Md.
