Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health is responding to a cybersecurity incident that has knocked out MyChart and CareConnectNow across the health system, according to a Sept. 1 update posted to its website.
Luminis Health said it identified the incident and immediately launched an investigation with legal counsel and third-party cybersecurity experts. The health system has not disclosed the nature of the incident or when it began.
Certain systems remain unavailable as of the Sept. 1, 5:30 p.m. update, and Luminis Health said its teams are working urgently to restore them. Outpatient appointments will proceed as scheduled unless the health system contacts patients directly, though it warned of possible delays.
Patients with questions about upcoming appointments or scheduled services can call 443-222-0193 during business hours. Luminis Health said its investigation into whether patient information was affected is ongoing, and it will notify individuals if required under applicable law.
Luminis Health operates three hospitals, including Anne Arundel Medical Center, and about 100 ambulatory care sites across the Annapolis region.
