For the survey, the cybersecurity company polled nearly 500 IT professionals about the challenges to managing privileged accounts.
The top responses IT professionals cited when asked to identify top threats associated with account passwords were sharing passwords with colleagues (79 percent), not changing default passwords (76 percent) and using weak passwords like “12345” (75 percent).
IT professionals also noted users often demand full administrative privileges over their devices, in spite of the fact 79 percent of respondents indicate allowing users to run as administrators on their machines is the biggest threat to IT security.
