Mr. Garcia was the first assistant secretary for cybersecurity and communications at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He also served as executive director of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council and as a co-founder of the IT Sector Coordinating Council.
“I am honored and eager to help the health sector bring the fight to the cyberthreat and work with other interdependent sectors, such as communications, energy, transportation and water, to ensure our collective security,” Mr. Garcia said.
