In a statement on Facebook, the hospital said that it had activated its command center, which is referred to as Code Orange. The hospital is also working with the authorities to limit the scope of the attack.

The San Diego Tribune reported that the hospital’s emergency room remains open to treat patients who arrive in private vehicles.

The hospital did not specify what type of cyberattack it was hit with. However, officials told The San Diego Tribune that they will conduct a forensic analysis of the event. In August, the hospital was one of 17 across the state that received state-backed loans for financial support.

“Our priority is our patients’ health and safety and protecting their private health information. This is a fluid situation and we appreciate the community’s support and understanding,” the hospital said in the Facebook post.
