66% of cybersecurity professionals experienced burnout in 2022: 4 takeaways

Sixty-six percent of cybersecurity professionals reported feeling burnout in 2022, according to a recent survey, VentureBeat reported Dec. 16.

The survey involved 311 cybersecurity professionals and was conducted by application security company Promon, according to the report.

Four takeaways:

  1. Fifty-one percent of cybersecurity professionals reported working more than four hours per week over their contracted hours.
  2. More than 50 percent said their workload was the biggest source of stress.
  3. Eighty-eight percent said a “blame culture” exists in the cybersecurity industry.
  4. Only 7 percent of professionals attributed their stress to lack of pay.
