Four ways remote work leaves companies vulnerable:

  1. Many companies use virtual private networks to protect remote employees’ data. However, employee concerns over battery life and slow speed have caused some employees to fail to use their VPN.
  2. Remote work allows employees to work publicly at coffee shops or while traveling. However, their data may not be totally secure when using public Wi-Fi, even if they use their VPN.
  3. Remote work has also led to more organizations storing their data in the cloud and outside their organization.
  4. Remote employees often use their own personal devices, raising questions about how a company’s network can secure a personal device.
