CHIME honors Tenet’s chief clinical informaticist with public policy award

Liz Johnson, RN-BC, chief clinical informaticist and vice president of applied clinical informatics at Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, is the recipient of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives’ second annual Federal Public Policy Award for CIO Leadership.

The award recognizes Ms. Johnson’s efforts to educate lawmakers on the importance of health IT. As a member of the ONC’s Health IT Standards Committee and co-chair of the committee’s Implementation Workgroup, she works to ensure providers’ interests are represented in policy decisions.

“Liz has given selflessly of her time to help CHIME, her CIO colleagues and the entire industry,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “Her vision, leadership and enthusiasm have helped to greatly advance our efforts with policy stakeholders and improve the digital transformation of healthcare. I’m thrilled that we are able to acknowledge her efforts with this award.”
