Carequality, an initiative of The Sequoia Project, is an interoperability framework designed to enable data exchange. Members include vendors, providers, payers and more.
CommonWell Health Alliance is a nonprofit trade association focused on interoperability in healthcare.
The partnership includes the following initiatives:
- CommonWell will become an implementer of Carequality.
- Carequality will “make a Carequality-compliant version of the CommonWell record locator service available to any provider organization participating in Carequality.”
- CommonWell and The Sequoia Project plan to explore potential future partnerships.
“To achieve nationwide interoperability that truly improves patient care, two things are required: collaboration across the healthcare industry and the will to take real action. We’re doing both,” said CommonWell Health Alliance Executive Director Jitin Asnaani.
