MetroHealth deploys Epic EHR at Cleveland jail

Cleveland-based MetroHealth aims to improve the health of inmates at Cleveland-based Cuyahoga County Jail by moving the patients’ paper records to its Epic EHR.

The health system will also offer telehealth services to inmates who need care.

“We really want to make a healthier Cuyahoga County, so we’re trying to see as many patients as we can,” said MetroHealth CMIO David Kaelber, MD. “And even for patients we can’t see, we’re positioning ourselves to be accountable for their health.”
