The Amazon Kendra function allows users to ask questions and then uses machine learning algorithms to respond with relevant search results. Organizations can use the function to search internal documents across portals and wikis to locate the information they’re searching.
Users can set up Amazon Kendra without machine learning expertise within the AWS Management Console. When the function is enabled, healthcare providers could ask questions like “What is the genetic marker for ALS?” and receive a response. The technology supports healthcare- and IT-specific language.
The Allen Institute, which focuses on human biology research, uses Amazon Kendra already to support questions from its scientists, academics and technologists.
