Apple poaches AstraZeneca CIO

David Smoley, former CIO at pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, will serve in a vice president role at Apple, Bloomberg reports.

Mr. Smoley’s role at Apple will be similar to his information technology responsibilities as CIO at AstraZeneca, according to the report. Apple confirmed Mr. Smoley’s hiring Sept. 27.

Previously, Mr. Smoley served as CIO at Flex, a multinational technology manufacturer, and an executive at General Electric.
