Alabama’s Regional Medical Center names new CIO: 4 key points

Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Ala., has promoted Anthony “Pete” Furlow to CIO of the Regional Medical Center’s board.

Here are four things to know about the medical center’s new CIO.

1. Mr. Furlow has been in the information technology department at RMC since 2009 as its director of information technology.

2. During his time with RMC, Mr. Furlow has played a significant role in improving technology infrastructure and leading conversion projects.

3. Before joining RMC, Mr. Furlow served as the director of network services at Baptist Health Systems in Jackson, Miss., and director of information technology at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga.

4. As CIO of RCM, he will serve as part of the leadership team of a 338-inpatient-bed hospital.
