York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health is scaling an AI operating system across its nine hospitals and over 250 care locations.
The platform from Aidoc expands upon the health system’s successful adoption of the startup’s radiology AI. In the past year, Aidoc has scanned over 200,000 WellSpan patient images, flagging more than 10,000 potentially critical findings such as brain hemorrhages, pulmonary emboli and vessel occlusions. WellSpan also plans to go live with 21 new AI-enabled care pathways spanning seven service lines.
“Aidoc has augmented our radiologists’ expertise for higher quality and safety, greater accuracy and a better work experience — especially important amid today’s physician shortage,” WellSpan President and CEO Roxanna Gapstur said in a Dec. 10 news release. “Now, with this expansion, patients across the entire WellSpan system will be able to benefit, experiencing faster, more accurate diagnoses and improved health outcomes.”
