Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health has signed a seven-year partnership with GE HealthCare to bring AI-powered medical technology to its health system.

Venture capital investment in healthcare increased to $23 billion in 2024, up from $20 billion in 2023, fueled by the rapid adoption of AI technologies, a Jan. 8 report from Silicon Valley Bank found. 

UC San Diego Health is exploring the possibility of using artificial intelligence-supported cameras to detect potential patient issues — such as patient falls and bed sores — before they occur, the health system confirmed in a statement shared with Becker's.

In 2025, UPMC and Providence are prioritizing artificial intelligence initiatives to enhance clinical operations and caregiver experiences.
