Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures is investing in an AI startup focused on structural heart care, Columbus (Ohio) Business First reported.

The venture capital arm of the Los Angeles-based health system participated in a $5 million funding round in June for Dasi Simulations, which uses AI for predictive modeling, according to the July 3 story.

The company, a spinoff of Columbus-based Ohio State University, has signed software subscription deals with 35 health systems, the publication reported.

“Why wouldn’t you use Dasi Simulations in every case, particularly in bicuspid valves, LVOT, calcium, and lifetime management?” said Thomas Waggoner, DO, director of the structural heart program at Tucson (Ariz.) Medical Center, in a June news release. “You could easily make an argument to use Dasi Simulations in almost every case.”
