While the vast majority of health system leaders are implementing or piloting AI, many don’t feel prepared to lead this transformation, the Healthcare Financial Management Association found.
Here are four things to know from the Nov. 6 report that surveyed 125 CFOs and 57 other C-suite leaders:
1. On a scale of 1 to 5, CFOs rank AI competency a 4.19 as a must-have skill for the healthcare C-suite. Other C-level execs rank it a 4.08.
2. On a scale of 1 to 5, CFOs rank their AI deployment preparedness a 2.82, compared to 3.15 for other C-suite leaders.
3. Chief AI innovation officer (64.4%) and chief AI transformation officer (32.7%) were voted the new roles that will become most important to the healthcare C-suite in the next three years.
4. Chief AI officer (82%) was named the position growing most in importance.
