Anthropic filed its S-1 registration statement with the SEC on Oct. 26, naming healthcare and life sciences among the new markets the Claude developer intends to enter as it prepares to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker “ANT.”
The filing frames drug discovery as a leading use case. Customers, biotechnology partners and Anthropic’s own researchers already use Claude in drug discovery and development, the company said, citing projections that annual global pharmaceutical spending will exceed $2 trillion in 2026.
Anthropic is also pushing Claude into physical lab work. Its Model Hardware Standard allows AI agents to run lab and manufacturing equipment, including microscopes, liquid handlers and robotic arms.
The company listed faster drug discovery, disease detection and delivery of personalized therapy among the potential payoffs of what it calls “Powerful AI,” which it expects to become widely available within a few years.
For health systems weighing enterprise AI vendors, the S-1 positions safety as a selling point. Anthropic said its investments in alignment, interpretability, cybersecurity and enterprise-grade controls aim to deliver the predictability organizations need in regulated settings. Its risk factors also warn that its models may produce inaccurate or harmful outputs or act in unintended ways, which could expose the company to liability, litigation and regulatory action.
Anthropic reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first six months of 2026, up from $1.2 billion a year earlier, though it posted an $80.7 billion net loss driven largely by changes in the fair value of convertible notes and other instruments. More than 11,900 customers generated at least $100,000 in revenue over the trailing 12 months as of Sept. 30.
Anthropic, founded in 2021, has not yet set an offering price or share count.
