Three health systems are among the latest investors in Hippocratic AI, a digital health startup that has reached a $3.5 billion valuation.
Cincinnati Children’s, King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services and York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health participated in a $126 million series C funding round Nov. 3 for the healthcare AI vendor, which is used by over a dozen U.S. health systems.
“Hippocratic AI’s focus on safety and scale mirrors our mission to support the care team in providing the highest quality pediatric care to every child who needs it,” said Oliver Rhine, senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Cincinnati Children’s, in a news release. “The AI agents open up new opportunities to support families with warmth and precision, whether in scheduling, chronic condition management, or daily guidance.”
WellSpan Health touted “Ana,” its AI care assistant developed by Hippocratic AI, in the release, while Universal Health Services has the company’s AI call to check in with patients after discharge. The startup plans to use the funding to broaden its customer deployments, invest more in AI safety and product innovation, and pursue possible mergers and acquisitions.
