90% of CIOs evaluating hybrid cloud strategy

IT services company EMC conducted a global survey of CIOs at more than 660 organizations to better understand their approach to the cloud.

The majority of the CIO respondents (90 percent) are in the evaluation or proof of concept state for hybrid cloud strategy. CIOs are interested in a hybrid cloud for automation and self-service resulting in reduced operating costs.

Though the cloud is appealing, most organizations are in the nascent planning stage. Just 3 percent of respondents said they are evaluating their app portfolio for hybrid cloud suitability, and 91 percent said they don't have the organized method in place yet to complete such an evaluation.
