7 barriers to achieving health IT goals, per KLAS

Thirty-nine percent of health IT leaders identified budget constraints as the biggest challenge to achieving their health IT goals, according to a new survey of 33 hospital executives from KLAS Research.

Here are the seven barriers to achieving health IT goals and the percentage of executives that ranked them as a top challenge:

  1. Budget constraints: 39 percent
  2. Lack of staff: 33 percent
  3. Insufficient interoperability: 18 percent
  4. Lack of internal alignment: 15 percent
  5. Change management gaps: 12 percent
  6. Decentralized data: 6 percent
  7. Reimbursement: 6 percent
