45 IT Employees Laid Off at CHE Trinity Health

Livonia, Mich.-based CHE Trinity Health has laid of 45 employees from its IT department, representing 2.4 percent of its IT workforce, according to a Crain’s Detroit Business report.

The layoffs are part of the system’s plan to cut $300 million from its budget over the next three years following its merger with Newton Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East, according to the report.

Trinity has been on a hiring freeze since the merger, and 35 additional non-clinical employees have left Trinity through workforce efficiency reviews, according to the report.
