3 high-profile health IT acquisitions in the first half of 2022

Here are three key health IT acquisitions that have been announced or have closed in 2022.

  1. On June 8, Oracle said that a majority of the outstanding shares of Cerner were validly tendered, and the other conditions to the tender offer were satisfied or waived, closing the $28.4 billion deal that was announced Dec. 20.

  2. On July 21, Amazon said it plans to acquire virtual and in-person primary care company One Medical. The all-cash deal is valued at $3.9 billion. If the acquisition is approved, Dan Rubin will remain CEO of One Medical.
     
  3. On Aug. 7, CVS Health announced that it planned to bid for home health company Signify Health, which is valued at $4.7 billion. The planned bid comes after CVS executives discussed breaking into the home health market.
