Other key findings from the report include:
- More than 93 percent of eligible hospitals have registered to participate in CMS’ electronic health records incentive programs.
- 86 percent of all eligible hospitals have received an incentive payment for the adoption, implementation, upgrade or meaningful use of an EHR.
- 82 percent of all eligible providers have registered to participate in the EHR incentive program.
- More than 61 percent of eligible providers who have received an incentive payment specialize in something other than primary care.
- 71 percent of eligible providers who have received a payment are physicians, 16 percent are nurse practitioners, 9 percent are dentists, 2 percent are midwives and 1 percent are physicians assistants.
