The bill will help form a program that will give assistance to individuals who can’t afford health coverage. Sen. Charles Scott (R), the bill’s sponsor, believes it will provide better coverage than Medicaid expansion could.
It passed in the Senate 22-8 and will now move to the House of Representatives.
