Energy costs can make up as much as 3 percent of a hospital’s operating cost because they are open around the clock, making this area ripe for finding efficiencies, according to a news release by VHA.
Included in the organization’s energy portfolio are consulting firm American Energy Assets, utility auditing firm Eric Ryan Corporation and energy procurement provider Hospital Energy.
VHA’s supply contracting company, Novation, also supplies environmentally friendly items through energy-efficient means.
