UHS partners with Cerner for RCM services: 3 things to know

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services has inked an agreement to implement Cerner's clinically driven Millennium Revenue Cycle solution.

Here are three things to know about the agreement.

1. Under the agreement, the new revenue cycle management system will integrate with UHS' existing Cerner Millennium EHR and HIM health IT functionality, and replace UHS' legacy INVISION revenue cycle solution.

2. The new system, when paired with UHS' existing systems, will help advance integration between clinical and financial information for the acute care and ambulatory facilities that will be supported, both parties said.

3. "Since 2009, UHS has worked with Cerner as our primary healthcare technology partner," Mike Nelson, UHS vice president of information services and CIO, said in a prepared statement. "Cerner's configurable solutions will meet our evolving and complex business needs. For these reasons, we are confident Cerner is the right choice for us as we look to positively impact our overall financial goals."
