The law will go into effect next year.

According to the article, the bill applies to all federally qualified health centers.

Dean Germano, CEO of Shasta Community Health Center in Redding, Calif., said the bill will have a huge impact on community health centers looking to hire therapists, especially those that could not previously afford to hire them.

“We haven’t had [licensed marriage and family therapists] in organizations because we couldn’t afford them, and we couldn’t be reimbursed,” said Mr. Germano. “We [now] have the ability to do that.”
