Dr. LaRosa’s departure was announced yesterday afternoon in an email to physicians and staff and was effective immediately. He said Ian Taylor, MD, PhD, dean of SUNY’s College of Medicine, would take over as officer in charge Wednesday.
A medical center spokesperson confirmed Dr. LaRosa’s departure and said he plans to return to the facility after a sabbatical. Dr. LaRosa held his position at the helm for 13 years.
