Shuttered Pennsylvania hospital available for lease

Ellwood City (Pa.) Medical Center, which closed in 2019, is now up for lease for new tenants, The Times reported Oct. 23.

A hospital, senior care or rehab facility would be the “ideal tenant” for the facility, according to a posting from real estate agency Three Rivers Commercial Advisors. In June 2022, the sale of the property was approved by Pelorus Equity Group after the previous owner, Americore Holdings, filed for bankruptcy.

Since acquiring the property, Pelorus has made some capital improvements, including new roofing on half of the building.

Local officials are lobbying for the new tenant to be some sort of “medical facility.”
