S&P revises Partners HealthCare System’s outlook to negative

S&P Global Ratings revised Boston-based Partners HealthCare’s outlook to negative from stable.

“The negative outlook reflects our view of Partners’ weakened financial profile, including volatile financial operating performance in recent years and a sizable operating loss reported for fiscal [year] 2016,” said S&P analyst Jennifer Soule.

The ratings agency also affirmed the “AA-” rating on the health system’s variable rate demand obligation debt.
