The upgrade reflects Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare's acquisition of Columbus Regional.

The rating outlook is stable, and both the rating and outlook for Columbus Regional are now tied to the rating and outlook for Piedmont.

Editor's note: This article was updated Dec. 5 to clarify Columbus Regional Healthcare System is located in Georgia, not North Carolina. Becker's regrets this error.
