The rating affirmation is based on several factors, including HSC’s improved operations in fiscal year 2016 and its market niche as a long-term acute care hospital for chronic diseases and rehabilitation.
After affirming the rating, S&P subsequently withdrew its underlying rating on HSC’s series 2007C bonds per HSC management’s request.
The outlook is stable, reflecting S&P’s view that HSC’s niche services provide it with a healthy enterprise profile.
